Welcome back!
The truth is that the current employment market is the toughest since the 1930’s, and it probably won’t get any better within a few years. In the news it was reported that 60 or more candidates are competing for every graduate level opening, and the outlook isn’t much more cheery for other types of jobs, either. Many job hunters may think that there’s a greater likelihood of a lottery win than finding a job via the traditional job ads. Therefore people have to look at new methods of looking for jobs. Such methods can range from normal self-employment, routes to employed vacancies by way of other media than the job adverts, or looking at the new opportunities to Work From Home offered by Internet Business.
It is said by specialists that only about 20% of all vacancies are in fact advertised, either in the papers, through employment agencies or the Online Jobs sites. And if you consider it this, it stands to reason. The jobs market is the one single area in which the person doing the buying does the advertising. If I need to purchase a car, I don’t place an ad in the paper saying “car required, estate, white or black, around ten grand”. I look at cars on offer in the auto sections of the local newspapers. Why is the labour market so different?
For this reason many organisations turn to headhunters. These are specialists who look for suitable candidates for the job, who may not even be looking for another position. Nevertheless, if candidates get their resume placed on the Web, they may well be offered an interview by the headhunters. Job hunters are also advised to employ their networks, asking friends and relations to listen out for any possible vacancies.
Some take up the chances to Work From Home or use their own car in various ways. Some of these are fairly low paid. One woman of my acquaintance gets paid a mere £20 for packing a thousand greeting cards in their envelopes. I once got given the opportunity to work for myself as a courier. For delivering 30 letters per day, the pay was less than two tenners – and from that I would be required to stump up for petrol and tax. Unsurprisingly I declined this opportunity.
Even so, there exist many Online Jobs that can offer a worthwhile and well paid opening. Examples include web design vacancies and work on raising a website’s Google ranking. Internet Business is a growing sector, and you can get involved without leaving your place of residence.
To get a job in this business, it is important to have the right knowledge. People will have to undertake the commitment to study, making a reasonable payment for a course in the technical aspects of the web. The time is now long in the past when somebody could build a web site with the guidance of an introductory book on HTML. There are many other technologies in use today. Online Jobs are highly skilled, professional roles. That’s why specialists having the required skillset can attain reasonable remuneration.
One regrettable fact is that the longer a person stays unemployed, the tougher it will be for them to get a job. They will lose their skills and experience depression. I have experienced the disappointment of applying to various vacancies via the Online Jobs sites, without even receiving an acknowledgement, let alone an interview. For this reason it’s so important to become free from the crowd competing for that one fifth of jobs that are advertised, and consider opportunities from other sources. The opportunity to Work From Home in the area of Internet Business has undoubtedly given me a new purpose despite the fact that I saw few prospects before.
